About

Johan Kramm is a 3D animator specializing in the animation of characters and cameras. While in the Emerging Media, BFA track at the University of Central Florida, he worked on projects such as Hard Wired, Insecticide, and The Crimson Knight. Hard Wired was a 3D animated short film created solo, over 9 months. Insecticide was a hybrid 2D/3D film created under Johan’s direction, leading a team of nine students over four and a half months. Lastly, The Crimson Knight was a 3D video game Johan animated for, working alongside students in the University of Central Florida’s FIEA graduate program.

He started his animation journey from a focus in film, starting in the sixth grade teaching himself After Effects to create VFX short films, and later attending A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, majoring in film and TV to advance his knowledge of traditional film techniques.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, while unable to film, Johan taught himself 2D animation, creating five animated music videos for various artists around the world, grossing a total of over 100,000 views. His newfound love of animation brought him to the University of Central Florida’s Experimental Animation track, where he began animating in 3D. Johan’s style is versatile, ranging from wizards to robots to aliens, but he maintains his focus on telling stories about human interaction and family units. He carried his cinematography background to his animation with a strong focus on shot composition and story.
